We were very proud to be able to present a cheque for £5,181.28 to Georgia's family and friends from The Georgia Leigh Ogden Foundation on Thursday 9th November.
Georgia (aka Gee or Oggy) was a much loved and valued student at CHS, She was involved in a fatal traffic collision and passed away, aged just 17 years old, on 26th June 2020 at the Royal Stoke Hospital. The Georgia Leigh Ogden Foundation was set up by Gee’s family in her memory and aims to help local charities in the Cheshire and Staffordshire areas, particularly charities for children and young people. It also aims to help charities who provide support services for people bereaved and injured in road crashes.
CHS students and staff have spent a number of years raising funds for the charity. A wide range of activities, from smartie tube penny collections, selling sweets and refreshments at school events, Christmas and Summer Markets, Pots of Gold, raffles, Beating the Bounds, Valentines events, spare change collections at events and more, have gone towards raising the fantastic amount. A special mention goes to Mrs Eckersley and our Charity Ambassadors for their hard work and dedication that has driven this.
Matt Webb, photographer and partner at Ollier Photography, whose special offer photoshoots raised £500+ of the total, joined CHS staff and students to present the cheque.
Students and staff at CHS are committed to continue raising money for this charity, which is very close to all of our hearts.
